April 23, a day where literature is celebrated in Cataloni according to MARCA but Violan wanted to find out if people really have ran out superlatives for Messi.
"I thought it would be nice to link something academic with something popular like a player who many consider to be the best of all time," he told Efe.
"Some may think there are no more adjectives for him, so this investigation wanted to see how true that is."
The investigation produced three new words. "Re-gol-ucionario", a play on the word "revolucionario", made the cut - as did "unadjectivable".
But undoubtedly our favourite is "General de Gol", meaning "General of Goals" in English. - pretty fitting considering Messi has 662 of them.

football fans are of the opinion that Messi is in a league of his own
and it appears as though whoever is in charge of the Spanish dictionary
agrees.
In March 2017, Messi is the sole reason that the word "inmessionante" has been included in the Spanish language version dictionary.
The definition:
1.The perfect way to play football, an unlimited ability to self-improve.
2. Describes the best player of all time.

It turns out that the word was put in back in 2013 and since then Messi has won four La Liga titles, three Copa Del Reys, a Champions League and a Ballon d'Or as well as leaving a whole lot of defenders on their arses.
